Peruvian tarantulas described in the last decade from high Andean habitat, with the altitude rule that governs their whole neighbourhood: they want cool, and the tropical warmth keepers apply by default is the common way highland stock is lost.
They are compact New World terrestrials with urticating hairs, keeping to moderate humidity, substrate depth, and modest enclosures, with temperature as the single decision that matters.
The trade record is a few seasons old. Founder stock is small, most guidance is extrapolated from neighbouring Andean genera, and listings surface rarely on collector provenance. New Andean genera have entered the hobby steadily as Peruvian fieldwork accelerates, and the pattern is consistent: solid formal names, thin early knowledge, and first prices that settle as breeding establishes.
