03 / The rarity spectrum BETA

How often do you
see the extraordinary?

From everyday favorites to almost-never-seen. A lens on market availability — not conservation status or care difficulty. Each tier opens the catalog filtered to it.

Tier
Rarity is supply, and only supply: the tier is how many sellers have ever carried a species, and for a single seller, how many separate listings. Price is not part of it, and neither is how recently it appeared. Tiers are given to tarantula species only.
One listing
One product page at one seller. Every size and sex offered on that page is the same listing.
Vendor coverage
75 vendor sites scanned daily, plus self-listed breeders. Private sales are not counted.
Live vs ever
Live listings are what is for sale today. The tier counts every seller seen since tracking began, with no cutoff date, so a species with seven listings today can still be Rare.

Rarity is in beta. It counts how many sellers have listed a species, not how many animals exist. Tiers are given to tarantulas only. It is not a conservation status and does not predict future scarcity.

Fire is the lowest in-stock ask we have recorded for that species, sex and life stage, per single animal, before shipping, with at least two shops in the comparison. A multi-animal pack never sets a record.
