Genus Edentistoma

1 species

A Bornean centipede unlike any other in the trade: slow-moving, heavily built, with reduced fangs and a biology so unusual that researchers have debated what it even eats, with evidence pointing toward a partly plant-based diet unheard of in a group of pure predators.

It remains a centipede, and the standing rules apply at reduced intensity: secure housing, forceps habits, and respect for an animal whose venom is undocumented rather than absent. Humid tropical keeping with deep substrate and cover suits it.

Bornean supply is close to nonexistent, with rare singles surfacing on collector provenance and pricing in a vacuum. The genus trades on strangeness to the myriapod hobby's deepest end, where a centipede that may eat algae is exactly the kind of animal the shelf exists for.
