The original pill bug genus, Mediterranean in origin, containing the large classical species that gave the whole conglobating body plan its name.
These are robust, dry-tolerant isopods wanting ventilated setups with calcium and leaf litter, slower to reproduce than the common Armadillidium and considerably more substantial in hand. Long lived by isopod standards, and impressive in the specific way of animals that are exactly what their name promises.
The slow-breeding rule prices the genus: premiums here reflect production constraints rather than novelty, hold longer than the fast-breeding species' premiums, and erode on a schedule of years. Mediterranean collection and European culture supply a modest trade. Starter cultures over counts, as everywhere on the isopod shelf, and patience as the actual product.
The line on each tile: lowest ask per day.
Rarity BETA Rarity is supply, and only supply: the tier is how many sellers have ever carried a species, and for a single seller, how many separate listings. Price is not part of it, and neither is how recently it appeared. Tiers are given to tarantula species only.
