Fast-moving isopods, and P. pruinosus is the powder blue and powder orange that half the bioactive hobby uses as a cleanup crew.
They are quicker than Armadillidium or Porcellio, do not conglobate, tolerate a wide humidity range, and breed at a rate that makes a starter culture self-sustaining within a couple of months. Excellent janitors and reasonable feeders.
Prices are near zero and will stay there. The colour forms carry small premiums that erode within a year or so of introduction, the same pattern as everywhere else in the isopod market but faster, because the reproduction rate compresses the whole cycle. Buy a culture rather than a count, and never buy these as an investment.
