Genus Creobroter

2 species

The Asian flower mantids: compact ambush hunters marked with eye-spots and floral patterning, holding station on vegetation and taking flying prey out of the air. They display readily when disturbed, raising patterned wings, which is most of what sells them.

The keeping is standard mantis practice with a tilt toward warmth and humidity: height for molting is non-negotiable, small flying prey suits them far better than crawling feeders, and misting matters more than for the hardy garden species.

The whole market runs on the mantis clock. These animals live under a year, so the population turns over annually, availability follows breeding cycles, and an adult is always a worse purchase than a nymph regardless of price. Within the flower mantis shelf, Creobroter trades as the accessible entry, below the spiny flower mantis on drama and price alike.

Rarity BETA Rarity is supply, and only supply: the tier is how many sellers have ever carried a species, and for a single seller, how many separate listings. Price is not part of it, and neither is how recently it appeared. Tiers are given to tarantula species only.
