Spiny flower mantises, and P. wahlbergii carries a spiral marking on the forewings that looks deliberately painted.
Small, African, and among the more visually interesting mantises available. They display the spiral defensively by raising the wings, which is worth provoking exactly once and then leaving alone. Husbandry is standard for flower mantises: warmth, height for moulting, moderate humidity, and small flying prey.
Same annual market cycle as the rest of the mantis trade. Under a year of life, seasonal availability tied to breeding, low prices, and nymphs a far better purchase than adults. This one holds a modest premium over the ghost mantis on appearance and it is a reasonable premium to pay.
