The West African giant fire millipedes: thick, glossy, banded in reds and golds, and among the largest and most dramatic millipedes the hobby has ever traded.
The keeping is the giant millipede standard at scale: very deep substrate rich in decaying hardwood, generous leaf litter, calcium, and stable humidity. Docile, long lived, and physically imposing in a way photographs undersell.
The market is defined by a border. US import restrictions on African millipedes, in place for over two decades after an escaped-shipment incident, cut this genus off from American keepers almost entirely, and what circulates domestically descends from old stock or moves quietly. European keepers see them more freely. Wherever you are, provenance is the question worth asking, and long-lived wild imports arrive with unknown years already spent.
The line on each tile: lowest ask per day.
Rarity BETA Rarity is supply, and only supply: the tier is how many sellers have ever carried a species, and for a single seller, how many separate listings. Price is not part of it, and neither is how recently it appeared. Tiers are given to tarantula species only.
