Genus Phrynus
Tailless whip scorpions, New World amblypygids, and the smaller and more available counterpart to the giant Mexican species.
No venom and no silk. They hunt with spined pedipalps and feel their way with elongated antenniform legs, moving sideways along vertical surfaces in a manner nothing else does. Flat, nocturnal, and requiring vertical cork bark rather than floor space, particularly for molting, which happens hanging.
Several species tolerate communal housing, which makes them one of the better group display animals in the hobby. Supply is a mix of wild-caught Caribbean and Central American material and modest captive breeding. Availability of specific species is inconsistent but the genus is generally around.
The line on each tile: lowest ask per day.
Rarity BETA Rarity is supply, and only supply: the tier is how many sellers have ever carried a species, and for a single seller, how many separate listings. Price is not part of it, and neither is how recently it appeared. Tiers are given to tarantula species only.
