The biggest numbers in the invert market right now, across every vendor FangTrack
tracks. Each one names an animal and links to its price history. Premium
display-specimen sellers are excluded from these figures, so a single unusual
ask can never take a record.
How these are worked out.
Every figure comes from asks we have actually observed on vendor sites, never
from sales — we cannot see what anything sold for.
A rarity record needs a real track record behind it: at the very top of the
rarity scale most species have only been seen a handful of times, which
measures how recently they appeared rather than how scarce they are, so that
record only considers animals with substantial price history.
Price records exclude a small reviewed list of premium display-specimen
sellers, for the reason set out on
Transparency.
