Genus Javanimetrus

1 species

The Javan blue forest scorpion's genus, split from the old Heterometrus in the revision that redistributed the Asian giants: a heavy, dark animal with a blue-green sheen under light, built on the reassuring pattern of huge pincers and modest venom.

The keeping is the forest-giant standard: humid, burrow-friendly depth, cover, warmth, communal tolerance with the usual reservations, UV fluorescence as the reliable trick.

Indonesian supply moves in pulses, and the genus rename does the market work: older listings for the same animal sit under the previous name, the two labels price independently, and the cross-search between them is the practical note. Within the forest scorpion shelf the blue sheen is the premium, bought on lighting and photographs, carried by an animal otherwise interchangeable with its relatives.
