Genus Superstitionia

1 species

A single-species genus from the ranges of the American Southwest: a small, dark, finely marked scorpion named for the Superstition Mountains and traded as the completist's completist item.

The venom is mild, the keeping is undemanding, and the profile is the montane-native standard: cooler than desert defaults, crevice-and-litter housing, sedentary habits, small scale throughout.

Its market is defined by being the only member of its genus and among the least offered animals on the North American shelf: collection is incidental, listings are single events, and prices form without competition or history. The genus sells taxonomic completeness, one entire genus in one small enclosure, to the audience that keeps score that way, and the animal itself is a perfectly pleasant miniature that never needed the mythology.

Rarity BETA Rarity is supply, and only supply: the tier is how many sellers have ever carried a species, and for a single seller, how many separate listings. Price is not part of it, and neither is how recently it appeared. Tiers are given to tarantula species only.
