Small African buthids, and the family membership is the thing to note: thin pincers, thicker tail, and venom that is more significant than the size suggests.

Not in the Androctonus or Leiurus class, but painful and locally significant, and worth respecting from an animal this small. They are quick, they shelter under bark and stones, and several species are attractively marked.

Southern African supply is a mix of wild-caught and modest captive breeding, arriving irregularly. The genus sits in an awkward market position: too venomous to be a casual first scorpion, too small to satisfy people who want an impressive one, so demand stays thin and the price stays down regardless of how available it is.

Rarity BETA Rarity is supply, and only supply: the tier is how many sellers have ever carried a species, and for a single seller, how many separate listings. Price is not part of it, and neither is how recently it appeared. Tiers are given to tarantula species only.
