Pinktoes. The genus that taught a generation of keepers that arboreal does not mean advanced, and then taught them that ventilation is not optional. A. avicularia is the entry point and remains one of the better first arboreals.
They live in the upper third of the enclosure, build silk tubes against the glass, and “flick” urticating hairs in a lazier way than most New World terrestrials. (By “flick” we mean “rub.”) Where people go wrong is treating them like a tropical terrestrial and sealing them into a swamp. Cross ventilation matters more than humidity numbers.
Taxonomy here has been rebuilt repeatedly, with species peeling off into Caribena and Ybyrapora, so old listings and current names often disagree. That mismatch is worth watching on the price side, because a species that quietly got renamed will sometimes trade at two different levels under two different labels for months.
