25+ Chromatopelma Tarantulas for Sale from 33 Sellers

New World 1 species Chromatopelma — commonly said as kroh-mat-oh-PEL-muh
Illustration © Mingo Xie / The Silk Ranch Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens

One species. C. cyaneopubescens, the green bottle blue, and it does more work for the hobby than most entire genera.

Blue legs, orange abdomen, green carapace, and a webbing habit so aggressive that a mature specimen will fill a quarter of its enclosure with silk tunnels within weeks. Arid Venezuelan scrubland animal, so it wants dry substrate and a water dish, not humidity. Fast growing for a New World terrestrial, which is unusual and part of why it is so widely recommended.

Supply is deep and prices have flattened as breeding scaled. The interesting price behavior is at the sling end, where the coloration has not developed yet and buyers discount heavily for an animal that will look completely different in a year.

Rarity BETA Rarity is supply, and only supply: the tier is how many sellers have ever carried a species, and for a single seller, how many separate listings. Price is not part of it, and neither is how recently it appeared. Tiers are given to tarantula species only.
