Genus Citharacanthus
Caribbean and Central American terrestrials, mostly Cuban, Mexican and Guatemalan, and larger than most of what comes out of that region.
C. cyaneus and C. spinicrus are the traded ones. Terrestrial, burrowing when young, moderate to large as adults, and more defensive than the Brachypelma they share a range with. Growth is reasonable rather than slow.
Cuban material does not move at all, so the market is entirely captive lines from older imports, and production is modest. Prices sit above what the appearance justifies purely on thin supply. This is a genus where the animals are unremarkable and the price is set by border policy, which is a pattern worth recognizing because it repeats across the Caribbean.
The line on each tile: lowest ask per day.
Rarity BETA Rarity is supply, and only supply: the tier is how many sellers have ever carried a species, and for a single seller, how many separate listings. Price is not part of it, and neither is how recently it appeared. Tiers are given to tarantula species only.
