A recently described Mexican genus, part of the current wave of formal work on a Mexican fauna the hobby has kept for decades under approximate names.
The animals are New World terrestrials with urticating hairs, keeping to the standard Mexican profile: arid-leaning setups, substrate depth, slow growth, long lives. Mexican export closure means captive lines only, and for a genus this new those lines are shallow by definition.
The practical note is about names in motion. Recent Mexican descriptions absorb animals that previously traded under other genera or as locality forms, so older listings may describe these species without saying so, and prices under old and new labels rarely converge quickly. The described names will outlast the trade labels around them; the current premiums on novelty will not.
The line on each tile: lowest ask per day.
Rarity BETA Rarity is supply, and only supply: the tier is how many sellers have ever carried a species, and for a single seller, how many separate listings. Price is not part of it, and neither is how recently it appeared. Tiers are given to tarantula species only.
