Genus Eucratoscelus
The East African stout-leg baboons: burrowing tarantulas whose massively thickened rear legs make them among the most physically distinctive animals in the African trade.
They are Old World in full: deep, committed burrowers, fast when provoked, equipped with a genuine threat display and no urticating hairs, and carrying venom that warrants complete respect. No handling. The keeping is depth, dry-to-moderate substrate, warmth, and distance, with the swollen legs visible mostly at the burrow mouth at night.
East African supply mixes imports with modest European breeding, and the genus trades behind the famous baboons on name recognition while offering the trade's most recognisable silhouette. The stout legs are the product; the standard baboon caution belongs in the headline rather than the fine print.
The line on each tile: lowest ask per day.
Rarity BETA Rarity is supply, and only supply: the tier is how many sellers have ever carried a species, and for a single seller, how many separate listings. Price is not part of it, and neither is how recently it appeared. Tiers are given to tarantula species only.
