Old World 2 species

Dwarf old worlds, which is an unusual combination, and communal-tolerant, which is rarer still. H. villosella out of Tanzania is the species that matters.

Under two inches, heavy webbing, semi-fossorial, quick enough during a rehouse to embarrass someone who expected a small spider to be slow. No urticating hairs, but at this size the venom is not the concern the genus name might suggest.

Sellers list them in groups more often than singly, which is the price trap. A group listing next to single-specimen listings looks expensive until you divide. On a per-animal basis these are among the least expensive old world tarantulas available anywhere.
