Genus Barylestis
African huntsman spiders, large, flat, and bark-dwelling, trading a step behind their Asian relatives on name recognition and nothing else.
Extremely fast, crevice-flattening, and not medically serious, which leaves containment as the entire husbandry conversation: vertical bark, cross ventilation, and an enclosure opened with intent. The ghost-pale and forest-dark species keep identically.
West and Central African wild-caught material arrives in thin irregular pulses, species identification depends on the exporter, and the genus's obscurity keeps listings sparse. The huntsman market rule applies: named species carry premiums over generic stock for the same keeping experience, and availability rather than price decides what a buyer actually gets.
The line on each tile: lowest ask per day.
Rarity BETA Rarity is supply, and only supply: the tier is how many sellers have ever carried a species, and for a single seller, how many separate listings. Price is not part of it, and neither is how recently it appeared. Tiers are given to tarantula species only.
