Huntsman spiders. Flat, long-legged, extremely fast, and living in the crevices and bark surfaces that most enclosures do not provide.
H. venatoria is the cosmopolitan one. H. davidbowie out of Malaysia is the golden-haired species named exactly as it sounds. H. maxima from Laos holds the record for leg span of any spider. None are medically serious but all are quick enough to leave an enclosure the instant it opens.
Supply is largely wild-caught Southeast Asian material with irregular timing, so specific species come and go. The named species carry premiums well above the generic huntsman stock. Availability, not cost, governs whether you get the one you want.
