Middle Eastern and North African crevice weavers: primitive spiders that line rock cracks with lampshade-like silk and wait at the rim, dark-bodied, long lived, and almost never traded.
Keeping is a crack in a box: stone or cork with tight gaps, arid conditions, minimal water, minimal interference. The silk installation thickens over years. Venom is essentially undocumented, and the family's record suggests nothing beyond local unpleasantness, but undocumented is its own reason for the standing no-handling default.
The trade, such as it is, consists of occasional single listings from a region with no invertebrate export infrastructure. Prices form in a vacuum. The genus sells permanence and strangeness to the small audience that wants a decade-long silk structure more than an animal it will ever see clearly.
The line on each tile: lowest ask per day.
Rarity BETA Rarity is supply, and only supply: the tier is how many sellers have ever carried a species, and for a single seller, how many separate listings. Price is not part of it, and neither is how recently it appeared. Tiers are given to tarantula species only.
