The purseweb spiders: North American mygalomorphs that build vertical silk tubes up tree bases, live sealed inside, and bite prey through the wall of their own home, dragging it in through a slit they repair afterward.
Keeping reproduces the tube's conditions: a vertical anchor, deep substrate at its base, stable moisture, and prey introduced against the silk. The animal is essentially never seen; the tube twitching at contact is the entire show, and it is genuinely worth watching. Venom is unremarkable; handling offers nothing.
Collection is thin and seasonal, dominated by wandering males with months remaining, while the long-lived tube-holding females rarely enter trade at all. The purchase question is the trapdoor question in silk: which sex is actually on offer, and therefore whether you are buying years or weeks.
The line on each tile: lowest ask per day.
Rarity BETA Rarity is supply, and only supply: the tier is how many sellers have ever carried a species, and for a single seller, how many separate listings. Price is not part of it, and neither is how recently it appeared. Tiers are given to tarantula species only.
